| As you can see from the pictures below, yes, we still have the puppy :) Harley and Emily have become buddies. Harley has grown from 8 lb. to about 25 lb. in just few weeks. Emily is not scared of this furry brown puppy at all. Being the only child, we tend to wonder if she will ever learn to share her stuff with others. Well, after having Harley, we have no doubt that Emily will do just fine in the sharing department. Harley never lack toys to play with, thanks to Emily's generosity of providing her own toys to the dog. (This made my effort in separating their toys much harder) And Harley, on the other hand is quite good at sharing as well. She lets Emily pull balls and dead bugs (yes, dead bugs!) out of her mouth without much fight. here are some pictures of Emily trying to get Harley's golf ball...

| This year's Easter is one of the coldest Easter as they said. We absolutely love it because it snowed here! It reminded us of our time in Virginia. Even though the snow didn't last for long but we had a great time introducing our daughter and our puppy to the beautiful snow and of course my tiny snow man!

| Yes! We made the first two weeks as parents of a 11 month old baby and a 7 weeks old puppy. We should be called supper parents! ( I know, for those of you who have more than one kids...you are SUPPER!!!) Things start to settle down a little bit more now. No more every two hour bathroom break for Harley. (it's every three hours now) And I have managed to synchronize Emily and Harley's nap time, food time and bathroom time so they wont come in conflict with each other. We love our daily walk with Emily and Harley. It has been great to see them getting to know each other more. And as new dog owners, we started to read up on all different kind of training books. One of the books suggested that we should hang a bell on the door. And we should let Harley ring it eveytime when we take Harley out for bathroom brake. The goal is to make Harley learn to tell us that she needs to go potty by ringing the bell. What a good idea! We followed the suggestion and look who is ringing the bell!

| A week ago we welcomed Harely, 7 weeks old Chesapeake Bay Retriever into our home. She is an adorable and smart puppy. Well, for all you parents of young children you might be thinking, "are you crazy? don't you have enough to do on your hand?" I know, I know...it's definitely a lot of work trying to train a puppy. Scott and I often ask the same question ourselves as well, "are we crazy?" Emily was thrilled about the new addition even though she was quite scared in the beginning. After three days of watching from a far, she decided to test the puppy out. She is quite brave when Harely is sleeping and when Harely is in her gate. As you can see from the pics, Emily would pat, kiss, poke and grab the puppy when Harely is sleeping. But it's a different story when Harely is awake. E. would climb up the chair and to play with Harely from up there. We sure hope that Scott and I would be able to keep up with all the work that comes with having a puppy...well, we shall see. The story is to be continued... | | |
| For those Star Trek fans, I do have a all new definition for the word, Klingons. :) Emily is 10 months old now. Scott and I have many different names for our sweet daughter (giant, peanut, princess,Emo, Momo, bottomless pit...etc.) She was sick for the first time in her life for about two weeks recently. Thank God that she is feeling much much better now. But for those few days of sickness, she has won the title of being a "cling-on" :) She would not let me be out of her sight. This made going to bathroom a little challenging. hee hee. So here is some pictures of my cling-on daughter. By the way, she is able to stand up without holding on anything now. I guess pretty soon I will be chasing her all over the house. She also learned many words in sign language and her recent word that she learned was "da da" It's quite sweet when she wakes up in the morning and signs "da da" for me to take her to her daddy. She sure is daddy's little girl!
